The Nishikigoi Centre offers a professional and comprehensive
service to fish keepers together with advice on the construction and maintenance
of aquatic environments.
Water Quality Testing
Electronic equipment is used to measure specific levels of water quality.
The correct interpretation of these results, along with advice on the way
to rectify any problems, can save the lives of fish.
Parasitology
Skin scrapes taken from fish and examined under a microscope in situ enables
the investigation of microscopic ectoparasites and allows species identification.
Diagnosis determines the pattern of environmental medication which can be
advised or administered from stock.
Ulcers and Skin Abrasions
Individual fish can be treated directly and swabs may be taken for bacterial
identification and determining sensitivity to antibiotics.
Fish Packing
A unique service that ensures fish are packed in a correct manner to reduce
the stress incurred during a traumatic situation such as a house move. This
service may involve preliminary and follow-up work.
All fish are packed with oxygen and in suitable cartons.
Advisory Service
Whether it is a new pond to be constructed or an upgrade of a current filter
system to be considered, advice can be provided to ensure that the most suitable
systems are installed for a particular project. Stocking and planting of an
individual system along with its successful maintenance can be advised or
implemented.
On request a full report can be provided on any work undertaken, listing
current conditions and suggested improvements. Advice can be given concerning
the equipment required for a particular project.
Please Note; All equipment used for fish handling is disinfected between
jobs with FAM30, (BSI reg. No. FM09535 and approved by MAFF). It is bactericidal,
fungicidal and virucidal, offering excellent protection from a wide range
of disease- causing organisms.
